For something different this valentines, try making a wire heart as the centre piece of your card.
Materials required:
1.Craft wire (soft and bendable) - thick silver and fine red.
2.Craft pliers
3. Card - silver and red
4. Silver thread
5. Needle
6. Ruler
7. Pencil
8. Sticky tape
9. Double sided sticky tape (DSST)
Instructions:
1.Shape a heart from the thick silver wire.
2. Attach the thin red wire to the heart by wrapping it around the base several times.
3. Wrap the wire around the rest of the heart, covering the wire frame. So that the wire does not slip off the wire frame, you will need to do a tight loop around the wire on each side as you wind the wire onto the frame.
4. Cut out a piece of red card 8cm x 8cm and tear a piece of silver card to approximately 6cm x 6cm. Cut out a card base 12cm x 24 cm, score and fold it in half.
Layer the torn silver piece on top of the red piece and adhere using DSST.
Lay the wire heart on top, and pierce holes around the frame in three places (see picture below ).
5. Thread the needle with the silver thread and pass it through one of the pierced holes from the back. Tape the end down to the back of the card with sticky tape.
6. Turn the card over and sew the heart onto the card using the pierced holes
7. Tape the thread onto the back of the card.
8. Adhere the heart onto the card base using DSST.
